So......I've had a busy week and missed a LOT! I'm now glad to have missed the first few days with this new format and don't need to go archiving. This isn't the first change this board has been through and probably won't be the last. This new look is too generic for me, in that the board now looks like a multitude of others out there. The old look was kind of unique and that made it kind of fun.
I'm happy to see that my bookmarks and PMs transferred over. In time, I'm sure I'll adjust to needing to click a little more directly, or may twice to make something happen, and will be getting in lots more solitaire as I wait for things to load since this new format is a lot slower. Maybe I'll be able to quilt at the computer and get some of that hand work done

The white is toned down better. Thank you, and thanks that I have a quilting board like this to come to .

Patrice, Tell your computer guys that there is a problem between the format of the new site, and the Mac computer. Even when I move from Safari to Firefox (which usually gives me more functionality under circumstances like these), I am not getting additional functionality. Case in point: I am unable, under any circumstances, to upload an image, and yes, I have watched the tutorial a half a dozen times. It does not work that way for me. As soon as I try to upload anything, the web site freezes up, and I have to: command/escape from a frozen site, and start all over. And yes, I have checked this out with a Mac Expert with over 30 years of experience working on every aspect of the Mac as well as building Mac websites, maintaining and upgrading Mac Websites for Corporate clients, and maintaining Mac Servers. He took my computer and logged onto your site, and after playing with it for a while, and trying to upload images, he said the problem was with the server, not my computer, and that the server isn't built to be friendly to Mac's. So I'm not trying to be negative here, just trying to be informative. I love this site, but I won't stay here if I can't fully participate. I hope this can be worked out. Thanks!

Just wanted to add my 2 cents...Thanks Patrice (and others) for all the hard work you have done to keep this board a great place to be. I must admit I am still learning how to navigate the new improved board, but I am just very thankful to have it. I would rather go through changes than lose my favorite place to learn and share info on quilting and read about many topics and drool over the wonderful pics. Once again, thank you.

Hi, Patrice, I was just over on one of my Yahoo Groups (sewing group) and the site had a soft white background. So I tried to determine what made it easier to read than the new color here. 2 things I noticed: (1) there was not as much BLANK space and (2) the "tool bars" so to speak were on the left side going down and the background in this area was a soothing light blue. The right hand side vertically also was in the same soothing blue. In order words, the blue gave a "entrance" and "exit" to the page as you read left to right (if I explained it correctly.) Also as we know ads make the groups possible. What I liked about the QB before was most of the ads were geared to quilting/sewing or even when a topic got a little "OT", the ad was appropriate to topic (which sometimes scared us...Big Brother is watching!!)

Anyway, as the Developers do things to work out the kinks and since they've already slightly changed the background colors, I thought this might give them a little more insight. Working in banking and accounting, a very soft white and pale green and pale yellow are the best colors to reduce eye strain. Just think of the colors that legal pads come in!! And the colors of journals when we had to do spreadsheets by hand!! FYI, I spent about 30 minutes on the yahoo group and about 10 minutes here so far and within 5 minutes of changing sites my eyes started hurting and became very blurry.

Tell 'em to straighten out the envelope thing! Please! It's driving me crazy. It's too complicated for casual reading. This is not a technical site, ya know?

and we haven't used or commented about the ignore button because most of us didn't know it existed or what it really does... there's just too much to absorb at once... QUOTE]

Ok, I forgot to complain about the thread thing. It is bad. Very, very bad. Pointlessly time consuming. And after I first used it, I couldn't return to the thread - it forced me to gp back to the first page of the section.

Actually, It Does work on my Mac, the problem is resizing the pics. I was easily able to post a pic tht had been taken with a low grade camera and loaded onto my iphoto on mac, but most pf my photos are taken with a good quality canon camera, and then loaded on my Mac. Those will not post, and there seems to be no way to resiz. SO the problem is not the Mac computers

SORRY if this got off topic

Today, I discovered the "member list" at top of page was faster to use than "search" tool to look for posters.

Also just found the "recent post" button, top right, a big blue button just sitting right in front of me.
Im blind, LOL top right of which page for "recent post" button?
