I want to increase the size of a Bow Tuck to make a diaper bag. I'm really not good at this stuff. Could those of you with a pattern for the reg. Bow Tuck take a look at these measurements and tell me if they'll work? Also, I need help with the items that are WOF. Measurements in parenthesis are the originals.

Fabric
Top Portion - 8 1/2" x 22" (8 1/2" x 19")
Bottom Portion - 6" x 22" (6" x 19")
Bag Lining - 14" x 22" (14" x 19")
Front Pocket - 5" x 11 1/2 (5" x 8 1/2")
Front Pocket Lining - 7" x 11 1/2" (7" x 8 1/2")

PFF
Body & Lining - 14" x 22" (14" x 19")
Front Pocket - 5" x 11" (5" x 8")

These are the the items that are WOF. How would I adjust them?

Fabric Inside Pockets (12" x WOF), fabric Handle (5" x WOF), PFF Inside Pockets (5 1/2" x WOF), and PFF Handle (5" x WOF).

I'm going to leave the button loop and the ties alone.

I hope this isn't too confusing. Thanks.

I don't have a pattern to help you with measurements. I ususally try to make a trial one out of scraps or muslin to see how it works. Or you could just try paper and see if it goes together as you want it to.

good luck and show us pictures of the finished project.

I just added the original measurements if this helps at all.

You know I made a diaper bag out of a Bow Tuck pattern - but I just used the large size Bow Tuck - it was perfect size - so in my humble opinion - it may just work the way it is.

I'm having the same dilemma. Adjusting the bowtuck for a diaper bag. The items that are WOF won't change. I was thinking of increasing the width from 5" to 6".

Here's my question. If I increase the width around the bag from 19" on each side to 22" on each side, wouldn't the measurements for the inside pockets (fabric and PFF) be too short if we still use WOF?

If the wof is 45 should still be good.

What if it's 44? Is that still enough?

For the inside pockets just cut 2 pcs 2" longer than the width and you should be fine. You want just enough to have a little 'hangover' on each side.
