Can anyone tel me if the number on thread spools means it is thinner?, or is it the difference between cotton and other fibers of thread?.

There is usualy 2 numbers on the thread besides color # .. one is the size of the thread ---40 50 60 or how many yards on the spool ? i hope this is what your asking for memawsaquilting
