I totally need some help!!! I am having trouble threading my machine! I get confused by the illustration in the manuel. It says to hold thread with both hands and draw the thread down and around the tension dial from left to right pull the thread up to insert it between the tension disks and pass it over the loop of the check spring. If anyone has a better way of explaining this I would really appreciate it. I was so excited about getting this machine that I totally blanked when the person was showing me how to thread the machine.
Thanks Jan

I have 4 Janomes and they all thread the same way, so I'm guessing yours would be the same as mine. Those instructions don't make any sense.

We aren't far apart in Michigan, if you want to PM me I will give you my phone number and I can talk you through it.

Do you have to push a button before you start threading. My Janome 4900 has to have a button pushed or it won't reset and thread right.

Thank you for the pictures. I was ready to throw my machine out this morning. I was stitching and every 5 inches my thread would break. Looked at the manual to figure how if I was threading it wrong, and I was, now to try it again.

Keeping my fingers crossed that this will help.

My Janome has directions printed on the machine itself.
Not hard to do, just need to practice and take your time. You'll love your machine, I have a MC 6500 P and had to play with it to get it threaded right. Now it's a snap!!!!!
