I have read many a post on this quilting board about members being in the right place at the right time and getting a bargain.

I have come into a little bit of money so decided to get another sewing machine with a larger throat to make quilting easier. Before Christmas Janome was offering a A$1,000 discount on the 6600 if purchased before Christmas, went and had a look but was drawn in a big way to the Horizon (7700). Decided that this was the machine I wanted but didn't order it right away. Poured over the brochure for a couple of months, then about 2 weeks ago went in and ordered it. Janome had a Mother's Day special, with every Horizon purchase you received a A$500.00 sewing table. The machine sits down in the table so you have a flat working surface. So the Gods were looking down on me, there was a reason I didn't buy the machine at Christmas Time. My only problem now is that I don't have enough space in my sewing room to sent up the table. My son is planning to move out around October so maybe then I will set my cutting table up in his room and have both machines set up in my sewing room.

I picked up the machine and table a week ago, have read the manual from cover to cover twice but am struggling to find the time to actually set the machine up and have a play. It is so hard but I am resisting the temptation, other things have priority at the moment, besides once I have it set up I don't think I will be able to drag myself away from it.

You could photocopy the manual, drag the copy around with you, reading in your free time. Also join the yahoo group for the Janome Horizon, and start getting the daily digest. Lots of helpful folk there. Congrats!!!

I bought the janome sewing table when i bought my new machine in February and i love it. It' nice to have the machine set down in and have all the room. I'm sure you will love yours too. Happy sewing.

Boy, I am so thinking I need one of these, too, someday. I thought I wanted a sitdown HQ but the more I think about it, this might be what I really need. And I'd have the ability to do more than just FMQ as I would on the HQ. I think I may go and try one out but I'm afraid about my willpower. (And this just isn't a good time to get one). But someday....maybe...

I'm happy for you. Don't make yourself wait too long to play with it. I know we all have obligations and sometimes we can't just sit and sew (sigh), but do carve out some time for your self. You'll be glad you did!
