Yeah! I have to share...I had one too, last night. I've been running way behind in making my quilt gifts. People have been pulling me in every direction and things keep popping up, so now I'm down to the wire in finishing my DIL's quilt for Christmas. I finished sandwiching her quilt yesterday, so I was then at the dreaded step of machine quilting it....augh....I'm so terrible at it. BUT, last night the machine quilting went perfectly and super fast. I couldn't believe it! That's NEVER happened before. The quilt is now beautifully quilted and ready for binding...sigh...what a relief. Now, if I could please just get another miracle for hand sewing the binding on and embroidering labels.

I was doing the math on some binding yesterday. Usually I have a formula for how many strips I need to cut. But the fabric I had leftover was not in one solid piece. So I started to do the math. If I cut up the strips, I would have 258" and I only needed 245". But when the strips were sewn together, I had only 244". But I had one small strip 1.5" x 18" I sewed on a pink strip so the the piece of fabric was 2.25" wide. NOW all I have to do is make sure the patch is sewn to the inside. One internet store had the fabric for sale but 1/2 yd minimum cut plus shipping, I am just so lucky the everything is working out OK on this charity quilt.

That truly is a miracle. It's like a hole in one for a golfer.

I have been lucky lots of time to come out with a small amount leftover on bindings. Most times I over make to have enough. I use leftover bindings for scrappy quilts.

I also usually make a lot more than I need, and fully expected to cut more. This actual quilt has several sections of previous bindings in it.

It seems to be a quilter's Christmas with good things happening all around!! Love the other shares of mini-miracles.
