Very rarely do I put borders on my quilts. It's your quilt, do it however YOU want to.

the binding is added after it is quilted. of course you do not have to add a border if you do not want one. lots of people make quilts without borders.

I prefer sparing use of borders -- I think it's a more pleasing look to do away with them often.

One thing that might be useful to you once you have your pieced top completed -- stitch all around the perimeter of the quilt a scant 1/4 inch in -- this stay stitching will secure the edge seams and keep the quilt from distorting as you handle it for layering, basing and quilting.

Great ideas.

After all your input, I have decided to skip the border.

I searched last night for additional charm packs, not having much luck, I ordered layer cakes. The fabric design I'm working with was released a year ago and I'm lucky I found what I did.

I feel it's a good lesson to learn for future projects, especially when working with pre-cuts that have been around awhile.

Thank you
