I am embarrassed to say I am one of 'those people' sometimes. I just have so little time here, so I try to make the best of it. I too started to find me repeating others a lot, so now I only respond to the ones I read completely. If I don't comment, that just means I was pressed for time. When I first got on the board, I tried to comment on all posts. Silly huh?

if i see a picture of a beautiful quilt, i comment. it doesn't matter to me who else liked/didn't like it. i don't bother to read the pages.
if someone asks a question relating to method or technique and i know the answer, i read all of it to see if someone else answered.
if someone answered, i move along. if someone gave a different answer, i offer my alternative. then i move along.
but if someone asks the name of a pattern and the answer is given and the poster says thank you, and people are still chiming in with suggestions AFTER the thank-you, that tells me that the suggester is more interested in reading her/his own posts than in helping anyone, otherwise she/he would realize that the question was answered 9 posts back.

I also like to read a few pages to see what other answers there are . I find it interesting to know different points of view being expressed
