Red face quilted valances

I know in the past I have seen pictures of quilted valances from some of our talented quilters. If you should have a pattern or an idea of how to make a quilted valance, would you kindly let me know. I am in the process of updating my sewing room and want to put a quilted valance on my window. Thanks
Donna G.

I've done a log cabin - strips were 2.5" wide, block was set on point

This could be a spot to use up some orphan blocks? Sew them into a strip and back them with muslin and put loops on the top or run the rod through a gusset. Look to see what kind of hardware you want to hang the valance from first. This will give you a better idea on what kind of top to do.

When I make a bed quilt I make extra blocks to construct a matching valance and pillow shams. When I change the quilt, I switch to the matching valance.

Thanks to all of you for your suggestions; I really appreciate them. Now the decision--I've decided to go through the left over squares, etc. and see what I could do with them. Thank you
