Default Brother xl-3500i in a box

I have my mechanical in a box havent used it in 2 years, saving it for my baby, do you have to use it sometimes to make sure it doesn't rust. I want to teach her in about 2 Years but i don't want to have to service it

Yes. Run it through all the stitches every 6 months or it could, "set-up" and require a service oiling.
