    Default TrueCut electric blade sharpener

Does anyone have this electric rotary blade sharpener and if so, is it worth $65? I have the manual sharpener and I don't think it works worth a flip.

I have it and I think it works "pretty good" . I did not pay $65 though. I paid about $35 from Amazon. It may work 35 worth but not 65 worth. Still love that "fresh" out of the package new blade for cutting but this does help stretch out the use of the blade.

I think it's a whole lot easier to buy in bulk from eBay.

It looks like there are two different TrueEdge sharpeners. One is about $35.00 and the other is around $50.00. Is there much difference other than the price?

YES, I have the $65 one and have saved a lot of $$ on blades. Sharpen for 30 seconds as soon as you think the blades are a little dull. I hate spending $$ on blades that just need a little sharpening.

I bought one and have never used it. It is sitting on my cutting table, but it looks a little daunting to me.

I bought one and decided to leave it at my guild. There are some members on a fixed income that can't buy new blades as often as they need to. It works great. Connecting Threads has the sharpener on sale every so often.

I have the $65 one and have saved a truckload on blades. Rarely do I have a knick on a blade that this sharpener can't smooth out. I'm really happy with it.

I have the same sharpener and it works fine. Takes a little time to sharpen the blade, but if you do a few at a time assembly line, it is well worth it. The cutting mat also makes a difference in how long the blades last. The smoother the surface it has, the longer the blades will last. The less expensive white mats from Joann Fabrics are too rough and the blades do get dull faster.
