I'm ready to try some new things, too. I just retired after 34 years of teaching, so I totally understand not having the time or energy to do too much during the school year. One of the first things I would like to learn is how to machine quilt. All I have ever done is hand quilting, which I love, but it takes time. I think I would finish more projects if I could quilt some projects using my machine. (I just found 7 UFO's and all but 1 are completed tops just waiting to be sandwiched and quilted!) The other thing I would like to learn is not quilt related, but I know many of us enjoy other fiber arts. I bought a Cricket loom last fall and played around with weaving while on medical leave for awhile this past winter. I can't wait to learn more weaving techniques!

Pakistan? Hope you will be safe living there! It sounds like a very scary place to live right now!

I'm stretching mine by trying to learn FMQ. I now have the machiner's gloves -- they fit and are great! -- and an open toe foot, which makes it so much easier to see what I'm doing! Now I need the slider, I think, because the fabric still tends to hang on the machine surface. My practice samples are getting marginally better, and I've realized it can be fun!

Your pillow is absolutely lovely! I don't have new projects planned at this time, but I do have a couple in mind for the future. I'm still trying to finish UFOs that I started when I was still working full time.

This must be the year of growth! I too have decided it's time to change things up a little. After making and gifting close to 200 comfort quilts, I have decided to take some time away from that and do some quilting for myself. I have not made a single quilt for my own beds and I think it's time!
I have collected the fabrics for my own quilts for a long time and now I am ready to use it up. This year will be my 70th birthday and I just feel like it's time to do something for myself. I have collected patterns I want to try so now is the time to give them a shot.
