Default turkey quilt pattern

I have in my head a dresden turkey block made in a 5 inch block, but I cant figure out how to do the feathers that small. Is there a trick to it? I would appreciate any help from you super marvels on this board. Thanks in advance. Nana Pat

I have not seen one that small but if you did the blades with the pointed ends it would be easier then the rounded blades.

I have made a 5" diam dresden and it wasn't hard at all. I think I used the ruler (EZ Dresden ??) It makes pointed ends. I'm sure that they could be made even smaller without much trouble.

I am a Dresden addict who made a turkey using EZ Dresden ruler. I've never made one smaller than 6 inches for the plate and 8 inches for the block, but I think you could use the EZ Dresden ruler and make the blades (tail feathers) as small as 1.5 inches. You will just have to experiment to see. Remember that no matter how long/short the blades are, the hole in the center will be the same if you use that ruler. To change the size of the hole, you must change the angle of the blades. Have fun! You may just have inspired me to try something new. froggyintexas
