Default Twilling

Does anyone on here do twilling (similar to candlewicking)? If so, where could I find a free pattern that would be simple to try and see if this is something we (our quilt guild) would enjoy learning.

I've never heard of twilling, sorry. Have you tried googling "free twilling patterns"?

I found this when I googled. maybe a good place to start? I see some instructions there. I would think you could try drawing a simple design yourself, like leaves or something.

Interesting. I thought 'twilling' was taking 1/8" pieces of colored construction paper and rolling it up and gluing it on paper to make designs. I must have it mixed up with something else.

It is a beautiful hand embroidery stitch. I saw a quilt with 12 blocks (each block different) that was all twilling and it was beautiful. Would love to just get a simple design and try it. The Stencil idea sounds good.
