Joanns has a template for the one that is pieced, it comes with the directions on the package.

I have been doing this today...it is very easy to cut up and put back together. They are still squares to sew.

I think I figured it out but the name of the book would be fabulous. I am addicted to pinwheels.

I've seen the pattern for the block called Windmill, Twister & Square Dance.

Anita Soloman's book Rotary Revolution has a No Waste Windmill block that is the same as a twister. Very easy, fun way to make a twister quilt

Ami Sims has a book out called Twisted Sisters. The pattern is basically the same.

I'm glad you mentioned that. I bought an Ami Simms pattern with a ruler enclosed years ago. And of course it's just another one of those things I haven't done!
