I found out yesterday that my oldest Granddaughter is expecting twins in Nov. So I now must find some fabric and a pattern to make TWO baby quilts. Whatever I do it will be bright primary colors and no triangles except HST. We do not know the sex yet - they are not identical - so we may have one of each. I want the quilts to be more than baby quilts so will have to do some searching for fabric. I also will do this on machine as the hand quilting takes to long and they would be in K before I finish. I am still working on restoring vintage quilts by hand.

I like making my baby quilts in a rail fence pattern finishing 45 x 60. Gives them time for a lot of use from it. Folded in 1/2 makes a nice *tummy time* size quilt.

Congrats to you and your DGD!

Congratulations! A pattern I use quite abit is a free download from RedRooster fabrics called HeartN'Soul. It can be down in various brights or more earth tones as the picture in the pattern. It is relatively quick and lots of fun.
This is one of them I made for a co-worker. Final size is 68"x68", I too, like large baby quilts so they can grow into them.
