A few members have posted beautiful pictures of quilt tops made by loved one's many years ago. Made me wonder about why they never were finished. Were they quilts that someone just didn't like or maybe never got around to finishing?

Then I got to thinking about my own UFO's, just waiting to be finished. Will my grandchildren, or some day great-grandchildren, find them after I am gone and wonder why Mamaw didn't finish this quilt? I think I will try and stick a note into the UFO as to why it is not done.

Good idea!!!
I am also leaving a journal for my kids as to what to do with all my quilting stuff instead of dumping it in the trash!!!

Being the only daughter my parents have I would get my Mothers quilting things. That being said, I would rather Mom be here until every thing she has is all used up. If getting my Mothers quilting stuff means she is gone then I would rather not have them. We are very close and do a lot of things together. I don't know that I would be able to use her things. Would be to emotional.

I just started keeping a quilting journal - wish I would have thought of this a long time ago. I include all the little details and will include pics. This will help to explain any UFO's/WIP's, meaning behind the quilts, etc.
