unique quilt book

One of my twins, who is 5, brought home a library book about quilting. It is called "The quilt makers Gift" by Jeff Brumbeau. If you have little kids (or just love an adorable story) you should check the library for this one. It is about a woman that only makes her quilts to give to those who have nothing...not to be sold for any price. My little boy said...Look Mommy she makes quilts like you!
(and gives them away just like her....You could have picked my jaw off the floor when I found out how much you ladies are selling your quilts for. I just had never thought about selling them.....LOL...do not tell my husband)

That's a wonderful book. Several years ago there was a line of fabric that matched fabrics portrayed in the story. In fact, our quilt guild has an annual challenge and that (The Quiltmaker's Gift) was the challenge topic for the year the fabric was around.

I just recently bought "The Quiltmaker's Journey", couldn't find stock of the pattern book or the first book "The Quiltmaker's Gift". You are right, they are quite beautifully done, well worth a spot on a quilter's bookshelf.
