I do every 3rd stitch and the one thing I find is that you end up with a lot of little itty-bitty threads that go everywhere. Here is a quick and easy solution for that. I use painters tape (stolen from hubby's tool box). I put the tape on the front and when I pull the long thread from the back, all those little threads stay stuck to the painter's tape and I can just remove it and throw it away. Don't use regular tape! It is too sticky and will pull your fabric out of shape. The painter's tape doesn't do that. I find that the painter's tape has become a regular part of my quilting tools. I guess I wouldn't need so much of it if I didn't have to reverse sew so often. Hope this hint helps others who find themselves reverse sewing.

Razor blade it...took me a while to master this and I ended up with some cuts on my hands.( from my Alteration days) but nothing is like a sharp razor blade!!!!!

Everyone in my guild uses the eyebrow trimmers sold at Walmart 3 to a package for about $2 They are better than a seam ripper for fast unripping and won't tear the fabric.
