    Default Update Walmart???????fmq

Well I did it, I setup my teflon oven liner to use for fmq, it works great, every thing moves easier. Here is what I did.First I turned my iron on cotton setting and ironed it flat as it came in a roll. It is 30 in by 18 in so it covers all of my extension table. ( now set up to do small wall hanging for xmas) Then I slide it into the position I wanted it in. Made small hole with needle, Removed it folded it and used paper punch to enlarge hole. Placed to short peices of scotch double sided tap on on each side of feed dogs (beside not on) and one long peice at the edge of table to keep it in place, this seems to be enogh to keep it from moving while I fmq. Have a couple of pics so you can see the setup, am using it for a small peice now, but think only few enhancements could do something larger.

Nice job. Would be interested to know how it works for larger pieces.

Thanks for the great idea! I bought the piece of teflon from a sewing shop and this would probably be cheaper and larger!

A clean Teflon pressing cloth would work too! Great idea, I'd like to get a Teflon oven mat for use in my oven, lol!

I think you can buy these teflon oven liners by the roll on QVC. Then you can cut them to the size you want. I think the roll is long enough to get several out of one roll.

I bought an oven liner from Williams Sonoma recently for my oven floor. It is fantastic. I can rinse off dried on spills in the sink, no scrubbing. So I bet it would make a great quilting surface to slide around those quilts on.

Great idea....I never thought of using double sided tape to hold in place. I've used masking tape and that doesn't always work well.

Wow what a great idea. I have learned something not only for quilting but for my oven too. I'd never heard of these.
    Thanks ladies!
