I agree with all the uses above I have made many purses and tote bags but a couple of weeks ago I decided to make some light weight bathroom rugs or shower mats for outside the shower turned out great so easy to wash

I used upholstery to make this log cabin quilt for my daughter. Sample pieces from her furniture store.

Red is velour; rest are brocades.

That is a pretty quilt Grammy17 ,What did you back it with? I have a couple of sample books I thought about making rugs or bed spreads with.

Backed it with a sheet. It washes beautifully. I prewashed the swatches because if they would wash, I wanted to know before all the work. My daughter loves it. It lives on her couch.

I was a lucky recipient of a few upholstery/drapery sample books that the church quilters didn't want & were destined for the dumpster! In addition to items such as throw pillows, makeup bags, etc. I sewed up lots of 'grocery bags' for my family & friends. Have fun!

I have two large bags of upholstery samples also. I sorted one by color to get some coordinated to make bags for my girlfriends. Appreciate everyone's ideas though.
