Thanks. I have watched all of Kaye's tutorials. I made Joan Hawley's "Fanfare log cabin" quilt using the ruler. It turned out fine. As I always told my students- practice makes perfect so, I will keep practicing. 8-)

Thanks for all your help. As they do on the crime shows, I reviewed all evidence (tutorials and read the book to determine what point(s) I may have missed). The light finally came on and I think I have it now. I will work on another block to test myself.
I made this block (Fanfare log cabin) from watching Joan Hawley many times. I hope you can see the picture. My main focus is wallhangings.
