I ran across a really awesome shop in Waynoka. It is on the highway as you're leaving town headed south. I don't remember what the name of it is though.

If I was going to Arkansas I would definitely try to work in Marshalls Dry goods in Batesville. I understand it is like shock in awe when you walk in the place. http://www.marshalldrygoods.com/

Have fun on your vacation. Try googling the names of some of the towns you'll pass through along with the words "quilt shop". That's what I usually do and it tells me the name of any shops in the area.

We're in Springfield and there are two really good shops here---one is called "Quilt Sampler" and the other is "Merrily We Quilt Along" I like both shops and one is the Pfaff dealer and one is the Bernina dealer. There is a shop also in Branson called "Quilts and Quilts"
Have a great time!

There's also a nice one in Ozark, MO just 8 mi. south of Springfield on hwy. 65. I think it's name is "a stitch in time" but I'm not sure. But, it's in behind Lambert's restaurant which is a great place to eat, and then shop- or vice versa.

If you can make it to Lawrence,KS (slightly west of the missouri border) you will be very happy to visut Sarah's Fabrics. HUGE selection - and another fabric store right across the street!

I just got back from a shop hop and the following shops are great. Fabrics and More - Alva; Sooner Quilts - Guthrie; Prairie Quilts - Hennessey; Quilters Depot - Ringwood (this shop used to be in Waynoka); Savage Quilter - OKC; and Clarks Fabrics in Kiowa, Kansas. There is also another quilt shop in Guthrie that is very unique. I would highly recommend these. We also went to one in Ponca City and Stillwater that were good. Have fun and be sure and go to Clarks if at all possible. Have a good time.

Thank you so much for your replies, the route will be determined by quilt shops and quilt museums along the way.

I had been on a "Happy Trails Bus Tour" for quilters. We started at Quilter's Quarters in Leavenworth, Ks, quilting Bits and Pieces in Eudora, KS, Hen Feathers in Wichita, KS, Oklahoma Quiltworks, OKC,OK; Prairie Quilt, Hennessey, OK; Overbrook Quilt Connection, Overbrook, KS; Lillies Clasic Quilts, Independence, KS; Charlotte's Sew Natural, Newton, KS; Completely Quilted, Ponca City, OK;
There was always something special at each location. One of the quilt shops in OK, is the largest in the state. It is located in town, which town is a ???, They occupy the whole building , 2 floors of fabric and classrooms.

Enjoy you hopping around to the different quilt shops.
