Default Velcro Question

Anyone have a good idea for softening some stiff velcro? It is so stiff it is really hard to open it. I'd like to use what I have but I need it to be a bit softer. What I have is brand new but when I used it in a purse for myself it takes a lot to pull the velcro apart. I don't want to have it too stiff if I make it for someone else. Any suggestions are welcome.

I think I'll look for velcro at other stores and see what I can find.

You may have the stuff that is used on upholstery fabric. It is very stiff. Read the info on the packages before you buy.
