Vermont Quilt Festival
#1
I wasn't going to be there initially, then a bunch of us from work decided to go since we are all unemployed and no where to be otherwise, and last night I got a call that changed the course of the week. My friend called that someone from her group was dropping out and if I want I get to go with all expenses paid. This is what I get: The trip to Burlington, from NY with her, dorm stay for 3 nights, a class on Thursday (professional finishing), private viewing of the show on Thursday night, awards ceremony with champagne and Lake Champlain chocolates, open quilt show and vendors exhibits and demonstrations all day Friday and a morning class (not sure which). I will not stay Friday night because is my son's little league awards party and his team may end up first or second, depending on what happens tomorrow night. She will bring me back to the ferry for DH to pick me up on the other side.
I am feeling lucky.

Congratulations. I was planning on attending but looks like it won't happen this year. My sister generally goes with me but her health isn't so good right now. And my mother insists on a gathering for her 95th birthday which also is this weekend. I'll miss shopping the great vendors and viewing beautiful quilts.
