I see so many beautiful fabrics online, but am wary. I don't know how to tell if it is good fabric or if the color representation is accurate. I know that many of you do order online....do you ever get bad stuff? What should I be looking for?

I've never gotten anything bad. I usually use Connecting Threads, Hancocks, and eQuilter. eQuilter has tons of fabric but their prices are a little high. So if I find something there I like, I write down the manufacturer and check out the other sites because they have the same fabrics. Check the manufacturers. Most have great fabric. JMHO!

I recently ordered from Connecting Thread and the Fat Quarter Shop. I was very pleased with customer service and the quality of fabric from both.

I've had outstanding customer service from Burkholders Fabric, and have always gotten perfect orders from them. Not affiliated, just a very satisfied customer!

I usually try quiltshops.com. They represent 200 or so shops and you can quickly search for a specific fabric and get prices from several places. Or you can browse all the shops without trying to remember names. I've had good luck by sticking to brand names or Connecting Threads own fabric.

Quiltshops.com is great. If you have a specific fabric in mind you can browse lots of shops and find the best prices. I've ordered from several shops I found there and had excellent service. I recently ordered from three different shops to get all the fabric from for a baby quilt. None of the shops had all the designs from the line. It sure beats running all over town. Even with shipping I came out OK price-wise. The fabrics were Moda so I knew they'd be good quality.

You might also try fatquartershop and fabric.com
