I'm so excited, the first half of my runner is done!

Now that's a pretty one, great for summer fun.

Seasaw2, love your runners with the embroidery. Top is done, that was fun and quick! Realized I hadn't thought about the backing yet. Have decided this will be a gift for a friend who's favorite color is purple and she loves lilacs. There is a fabric at JoAnn's with black/lilacs, friend had bought some for recovering her chairs. Would be nice to have that on the back of this runner, but that means a trip up to the big city, so no finishing this today.

Maybe LQS will have something? Hehe, means I'll have to get out of my pajamas! Might not happen today.

Well, I'm way behind in the retreat. The movie last night was good but a little violent. This morning we had to visit a friend, so I was not able to look for any fabric until this afternoon. I am trying something new, I have never used a jelly roll, I found a earth tones roll that I liked on sale at Joann's. I think it goes well with some fabric in my stash. This is going to be a gift for a friend and I thought neutrals would be good, the dark brown is going to be the border. Now to decide on the center, which will be the white on white and two golds, I think I might use the white for the squares also not sure yet. I should have the center done tonight and post a picture when it's done. I still think I will leave the Iron in the basement, I need the stair stepping. Every ones pictures look great, I am really fond of purple, hope mine works as well as yours.

This is so much fun! I actually am happy with the way it is turning out. There is more contrast then the picture shows but still fairly muted.

Dede, I love the colors, also remember you can punch it up a notch with decorative stitches either as your quilting or prior to quilting. I would even be tempted to do decorative stitches with a gold thread like that dark gold you have as the fabric for the center. **just ideas here, of course it will look stunning regardless of what do Great job!

And btw, it is not a race just a friendly get together to make something pretty enjoy the process, dont worry about the finish line.

Oh Emma! I love it! how pretty it turned out

Am so glad everyone is enjoying the braids. They are horribly addictive but very striking when done. And great for a quick project. Always have those "need something immediately" gifts.

To give you an idea how distorted the colors are the blocks are a forrest green not black and the center panel stands out more. It is funny how so many of us are planning out next one. I know this won't be my last.

Oh Emma that is so pretty. Can we see a close up of the center block? Is it a panel or embroidery?
My DH liked mine until he saw yours. LOL Guess I won't hear the end of it until he gets one with more greens and gold. He said his doesn't have to glow either. He just cracks me up.

Seasaw: Its just a panel that I have had for a million years. Just trying to use some of the things I already have. Love how yours turned out. Had to laugh at all of your plans for other runners, right there with you. This is so satisfying. I wonder if it would work for a beginner, would love to get my daughter interested.
