I've got three projects out on the tables this AM. First is the, "Bright Birch Trees," pattern. by Amanda Jean Nyberg. She did her quilt in bright, fruity popsicle colors, which I love, but this quilt is for a man, so I'm going for blues, greens, browns against a cream background. I don't know what my backing will be yet.

Next, I'm getting preparing the backing for my scrappy camp quilt that I was working on last weekend. I decided to go with a red/green plaid backing and a scrappy binding. I'm going to tie this quilt with lots of red strings. Hopefully, I can get this sandwiched this weekend.

Last, I'm starting a new quilt...a pineapple quilt. I've picked out the colors and that's about as far as I've gotten on it. I'm going with reds, aquas, browns and various shades of white and creams. I think this is going to be a paper foundation project. I love sewing on the paper and hate tearing it off.

Now, to go see what everyone else is up to!

I'm working on three different block swaps on three different boards and have to have them done this weekend since I'm leaving later in the week for a quilting retreat. I'll post pics as I go along. If I have time (hah!) I'll finish the sashing for the last Mystery Train ride. I had planned on getting it done last weekend, but life took over.

Count me in! I'm working today (boo). And out all day tomorrow. But Sunday and Monday are Mine, all Mine! So a-quilting I will go I have binding for a bunch of projects that need to be finished - I think I'll make that job 1. Some small ones (placemats & quilties) that I want to finish for guild next month. And 2 lap quilts that are ready for binding so they can get the heck off the UFO list. Then, we'll see where the weekend takes me. Longarm quilting 2 customer quilts, finishing (actually re-doing) a backing for a newly completed top, or working on some of my block of the month projects which have been falling behind.

Because of the extreme cold weather here this weekend, I plan to stay inside and spend the weekend quilting. I am starting the Orange Slice quilt that Jenny Doan demonstrated last Friday and I need to press a couple of tops and backings to get them ready for the LAQ. I am excited to have an entire weekend to work on quilting.

I will be sewing away from home so will not have computer access. I plan to work on my BOOM blocks and finish project from Norah McMeeking workshop I attended on Wednesday. I am going up to stay at a condo at Big Bear with a friend. I may go home and take my Mystery Train #8 blocks off the design wall and take them also. She rolls her eyes when she sees how many bags I bring.

Here's how far I am with the crayons so far... they look a little drunk but that's because they're just attached to a sheet that's on a curtain rod.

Very nice scrappies everyone, I guess we're all in the same place trying to use more of what we have before adding to the stash!
