Default Virtual Quilting Weekend--7/3-7/5

Welcome to the Fourth of July Virtual Quilting Weekend. I hope many are able to join us this weekend, come and go as fits your schedule. If you're new to the idea, we "virtually" quilt together this weekend and post pictures and share what we're working on this weekend. I will be working on various UFOs over the weekend. Hopefully at least a couple will get done!

Yay! It's not a long weekend here (Canada), but I'm going to try to join in anyway. I have a mystery quilt to finish up, and hopefully get started on all the kits I picked up for the Row-by-Row Experience this past weekend.

The perfect weekend to start working on my red/white/blue quilts. I'm going to bounce between cutting squares for a 2 1/2" pattern quilt, and start sewing together 1.5" squares for another.

I'm off for the next 4 days. I have a sick cat so I'm not going anywhere. I will be splitting my time working in the yard and in the house. I was hoping you were having a virtual weekend this holiday.

I don't know if I will get a chance to work on this one (I have family in for the weekend) but I'm currently working on a disappearing hourglass quilt top in black and white. Happy Independence Day!

I will be working on some more Bible bags. I just printed a PP pattern of Ocean waves and drew a full scale pattern of Interlocking squares. Going to try a making a miniaturized pattern of Falling charms so that the finished square will be 3". Happy and safe fourth of July for all of my fellow American quilters.

I am making a quilt for my mom's 80th birthday party at the end of the month. I need to get it done this weekend so I can send it to the LAQ. It usually helps me to stay with something if I know others are out there sewing along with me, so this VQW is perfectly timed!

This is a FIRST for me, I've never done a Virtual Sew-A-Long before. My first act was to join two Halloween Block SWAPS that have just been forming up here at Quilting Board. One is a Witchy Sunbonnet Sue. and the other is Assorted Halloween Blocks. I'll be checking in on you-all, inbetween Gardening and going to the Fresh_on_FRIDAY Farmers Market here in town. Oh, yes, and picking Red Raspberries. I'll post a photo of some Halloween fabrics, as an encouragement for any of out QB friends who want to join the SWAPS.

I've been a busy bee today! I quilted my bargello for my parents. It's a secret make as I've only been working on it while they've been away, so they have no idea it's been made. I didn't expect to get it done so quickly as I have 9 days before they return home. Now just to get the binding done!

I've also had a play with the twister ruler I got for my birthday. I'm not sure if this will be one block of many, or if it will just become a wall hanging, but I'm pleased with how it looks! I did find it a bit of a wasteful technique though!

(For some reason I can't add the picture of the bargello, but I'll work on it and try to get one posted!)
