Default Visitation Day

Today was visitation day ! The day I got to visit our dear Aunt Jo-Ann ! Hubs decided that since I have not seen the inside of a fabric store in well over a month, that perhaps I might want to go visiting today, and visit I did ! Well stocked with my envelope full of coupons for National Craft Month ! Not only did I enjoy my visit with Aunt Jo-Ann, but she is conveniently located directly in between my two favorite thrift stores, Savers and Goodwill , and not far from BigLots who also happens to carry fabric pre-cuts that I know are of decent quilting quality ! So I did not want to make them feel as though they were being left out ! Behold the bounty !

From Jo-Anns :
3 packages of batting
1 pillow form
12 Fat Quarter Bundles ( totaling 60 FQ's )
1 EZ Quilting Circle Cut Ruler

From Goodwill :
1 really amazing quilt shelf ! 48 inches long total, with a 46 inch long hanging area for $18 ? Yes please !

From Savers :
18 - 100% Cotton Flat Sheets ranging from king to twin in size
Have I ever mentioned my obsession with flat sheets ? My son thinks I am a flat sheet hoarder, I think I am just being economical ! You know how much yardage there is on a flat sheet ? ALOT !

From Big Lots :
4 Jelly Rolls
6 Charm Packs

Total spent for the entire day ( not counting Taco Bell for lunch )
[h=2]$105.56[/h]I am good !

Well, Hubs idea was that I should go to Jo-Anns LOL, he forgot that my other favorites happened to be right next to it LOL . It is a good 45 minute drive for me to get to ANY fabric stores, and since we live in NY and have been having one snowstorm right after the other for a while, I have not been able to go, and I think I was starting to show signs of withdrawal !

Your Hubs is definitely a keeper!! Good think he managed to get you out of the house before you started cutting up his shirts to stave off that dreaded withdrawal!

Do you use the sheets as regular yardage for quilts or as backing? I have a beautiful 100% cotton cream coloured sheet and was contemplating using it as the light yardage in a HST scrappy, but was not sure if it would work.

I use sheets for everything LOL ! Sometimes the front, sometimes the back, just depends on the quilt ! I always get the 100% cotton sheets that " feel nice ". I have a hypersensitivity thing, and things that feel fine to others can sometimes feel REALLY scratchy to me, so I know if I think it feels okay, it is a safe bet that its fine for everyone else too LOL. My personal favorite is a nice Egyptian cotton ! Or those really nice vintage linen sheets . I could pet those forever haha

What a haul. Isn't it nice when you can visit relatives and friends?
