Default Just moved to Spring, TX from SF: Local quilt shop recommendations anyone?

We just moved to Spring, TX for my husband's job. I've lived in CA for the last 30 years so this is a major change for me. We don't have any family or friends here so I was hoping to find a local quilt shop that has drop-in and classes so I can meet some local ladies and take some classes as I'm also a relatively new quilter. I'd love any suggestions!

    Thanks!!

I believe we have a member here on the board from Spring. You could also Google local quilt shops in Spring or nearby. I can't help you since I'm down here on the Gulf. Wow. 30 years and now they move him. I think that would be a total culture shock. You should be able to find the member here on the board, if you check memberships.

Thanks tessagin! I have the quilt store finder app on my phone. I was looking for more personalized recommendations from those in the area.

Howdy Neighbor!!! I live in Spring myself - near the Arboretum. The closest quilt store I know of is in Humble, called It's a Stitch - it's on FM1960. PM me and let's meet and see if we can impress each other with our quilting fabulosity!

PS - A GREAT BIG WELCOME TO TEXAS TO YA!!!

We went to Old Town Spring for Mother's Day. It's very quaint and fun to walk around!

I'm in Houston, the closest quilt shop to you is in Old Town Spring and it's called GRS Fabrics. It's a Stitch sells minimal fabric and are mostly a Bernina machine dealer, they're in Humble. As far as classes, etc., I don't know of any in your area, perhaps check in the Woodlands? Anyway, Howdy from Texas!

I can't give you any personal recommendations for quilt shops, but one of my 'used-to-be-local' stitchery shops - ABC Stitch Therapy - recently moved from Grantham, NH to Spring, TX. It is a jaw dropping shop if you have any interest in crewel, cross stitch, needlepoint, fibers, floss, buttons, charms, scissors, etc. If you do stop in, please let the owner know that her shop is very sorely missed up here in NH.

If you are a longarm quilter, check out quiltfrog.com, also known as Texas Quilt Machines. Love, love, love their shop and service.
