Thread: Walking Foot

Hi , I need a walking foot for a 930 Bernina. I purchased one that was supposed to work with it but it has not turned out that way ! Any ideas ? thank you

Did the walking foot not fit on the Bernina? Bernina's have several different shank attachments, so not all Bernina feet fit on all Bernina machines. If you want to purchase a generic walking foot, you need to purchase a Bernina shank adapter. This is a little piece that fits the Bernina on one end, and a low shank foot on the other. However, a generic walking foot will probably never work as well as a walking foot made specifically for the model of Bernina you have. Unfortunately, Bernina feet are really pricey -- especially the walking feet.

There's a listing of Bernina walking foot part #'s (genuine, because that's all I recommend) on the yahoo group for vintage Berninas. It's in the files section and it specifically states which part number goes to which model. There are a lot of Bernina walking feet and only a few fit the 830 and 930, 4 mm feed dogs. Who told you the walking foot would fit your machine??
