I have a quality Singer machine, and lately, when I use the walking foot, I have to use the "crawl" speed and basting stitch length, otherwise I had teeny stitches, not what I want when quilting.

have you made sure the bottom feed dogs are up and working? It is one of the things I always forget to change after fmq.

Check all dials and bobbin carriage for tightness.

Make sure the arm on the walking foot is attached to the "up/down" connection on your machine. I just had this happen the other day when I thought I had it attached the right way and I'd missed connecting it to the screw on the shank.

Sorry for the not so technical terminology - - thing-a-ma-jig is my usual term for those things.

I have a Bernina walking foot and I have to be very careful that the quilt does not pile up under the posterior part of the foot. It sits very low and sometimes the quilted mass collects under it instead of moving. For me, it's an operator annoyance, not a problem with the equipment.

Same here (the event and the language)
