If you wanted to make someone a wall hanging as a gift, how do you decide what size to make it?
I don't want it to look huge, but I don't want it too small, either.
So how do I decide? What is a good size?

I some times make them rectangular which allows for it to hang in a narrow space. I fact I have a wallhanging of three shamrocks one on top of the other. Also have some Christmas ones that are longer than they are wide. Works well in several areas of my house/

Mine are usually 30-36 inches. Do you know where your friend would hang it? If so, I'd try to match that: square, long & narrow, or rectangular. I pick a pattern I like and then add borders if it needs to be larger.

Thanks.
I want to make my mom a purple wall hanging for Christmas. I just finished the top of an NFL one for my dad and I'm surprised at how big it looks although it's only 24.50 wide and 31.50 long. It's not how I expected it to look at all.
