    Hi All You Quilting Friends:
Our grandkids just announced they are pregnant with BOY baby :-) due late this winter. Daddy-to-be is a builder/contractor and wants a "tools" theme in the baby's bedroom ... Does anyone know where I can find TOOL quilt block patterns? The baby shower is the end of Sept. so wanted to do a quilt for the shower gift. :P

Your help with this request is greatly appreciated as I have spent all morning looking at Block Central for a pattern and only found a wrench pattern block which I think I can scale down to make the blocks about 9 or 10 inch finished size but I haven't found anything else and I'm so NOT pattern savvy so I'm not going to hold out too much hope that I can create something out of my beany brain. :? Thanks!

There is a hammer, a screwdriver and a wrench on this page:

I may also have some for paper piecing...would look so cute with a tool box. Congratulations to the mom and dad and to the grandparents to be. Peace be upon you.

I don't have any links or ideas at the ready for you, but I just wanted to say what a cute idea that is to do the "tool" theme. Congrats on the soon-to-be new grandson!! :)

Maybe you could use fabric like Bob the Builder....other wise sounds like applique. May be able to get pics from color books

Don't forget http://www.bearpawquilting.com/ they have lots of novelty fabrics to go along with your theme. Might check them out. PM me if you need a paper piece pattern would talke little to nothing to alter it to applique.

I found some Bob the Builder fabric that might go with the tools on the quiltshops search engine. Bear Paw was one of the stores that had the fabric. See link above.

    Congratulations.

    Hi Patsy:
Thank you so much for the quilt site for the hammer and screw driver. I will definately use these for my new great grands quilt. While perusing this site I also saw where they have a bereavement project quilt which is rather appropriate as these same grandchildren who will have a baby boy this winter lost a baby in January last year. I have decided to make them a small wall hanging quilt in remembrance of this lost baby and make a larger quilt exactly the same as the small wallhanging to send to the Eugene, Oregon bereavement project. Thanks so much.
