Just Fabric

I would like to learn paper piecing, I've looked at books but I just don't get it. Does anyone have or know a simple way to learn it?

I loveeeee PP. It takes take time to get it down & well worth it. The points match up!! Everything is even. I find myself looking at a pattern & try to find a way to PP it. Look on utube for tuts. Go to quilterscache.com for lots of pattern & will also give U other links..

just find a pattern you like [lots on-line] go by the #'s is not hard. if you stard you will be HOCKED. a good light next to your machine will help, to check to see that the fabric is in the right place. I find that haveing the iron close helps to. i like working on parcment paper and endless paper towels, some people have used coffee filters, OLD newpaper, copy paper, fabric, old sheets, just about anything that your can mark on and see throw wiil work.

My Mom taught me to PP when I was very young, that's the way she made her scrap quilts. Cut out squares from Sear's catologs pages and sewed the pieces of fabric across until covered then squared the blocks up. sort of like a log cabin or rail fence patterns which ever way she chose to sew them.. then tear the paper back off.
