Default Disappearing Nine Patch Help

I have all twelve nine patch blocks sewn and trimmed. I know I cut the block in half both length and width. My question is do I use just those four new squares to sew into a new block? Or do I mix and match from the other blocks too?

You just rearrange those four blocks. But it is your quilt do it your way!

I've made this quilt pattern both ways .... mixing pieces within same block and mixing pieces and blocks. Both ways have made interestingly beautiful quilts. But then I like scrappy quilts.

Just use the 4 blocks but turn them so that the small squares meet in the center.

The more you mix them up, the scrappy it gets if you've used different fabrics for the original blocks. Whack them all up and start playing with it. Who knows what you may come up with.

I made one recently, and when I was done lobbing all the 9s into 4s, I rearranged ALL of the pieces-parts to suit my preference, since it was made out of charms and they were all different. It worked just fine. It's all in how you like the final arrangement.

We did one with 9 fabrics and only rearranged the block with itself. It looks ok, but if we do another one I'd like to mix it up more. I can't get a link to post, but the thread with our quilt is titled "Lots of firsts on this quilt"
