1. Does anyone own a Grace Sturdy-Lite machie Quilting System? ( the quilting frame where one can use their own home sewing machine)--How happy are you with it? Problems?

2. What sort of stencils do you use with your pounce pad when you mark a quilt? Where do you get them?

Thank you for your help. The answers are always so helpful.

My friend has a Gracie frame w/a Janome on it..loves it. What I personally like about it is that it will hold on rollers all ..your backing, top, batting. Also, once you pin in place there are clamps on the side to hold the quilt tight..so, no basting before:))Yea!!:))It's a good thing and the service is super. She had a prob w/a part and they immed. sent out a new one...no questions asked. (Just make sure whatever machine you are putting on there , that it will have enough throat space once you have loaded your quilt.)

Stencils-You can buy stencils that are already cut out at just about any decent sized quilt store. Even the major ones have them. Then you just pounce your pounce away if you want:))

Hope that helps...Skeat who is not used one..but, looked at the hundred she has already zoomed thru:))

Ann, I have heard only great things about Grace frames - so much so that I ordered and received yesterday (!!) my Grace GMQ Pro which is currently boxed up in my garage waiting for strong husband muscles to help me carry the boxes downstairs! I have heard nothing but good things about the service - one good thing is if there is a problem, you work directly with Grace and not through the dealer so problems are fixed faster. Are you thinking about one for your self? :!:

I haven't used the pounce pad, but sure am interested!

Like said in other posts, you can get templates at pretty much any quilt store and Joann's (at least mine) carries them as well.

When I hand quilt I use a PVC lap frame. Am working on my 2nd quilt using the pounce pad. I only pounce the amount that is in my frame. Since I am usually doing this on my lap, have discovered it helps to have something hard (am using a cutting board from my kitchen, but a book would work as well) underneath the quilt to pounce on, I get a much better "pounce".

Full Line Stencils is online and makes the perfect stencil for pounce.
All the cuts have mesh in them so its nice and smooth to apply pounce.
I have both kinds of stencils, most from Joanns with coupons, but I much prefer the mesh kind.
No quilting table, cant afford it. I did buy a Flynn frame, its no good dont waste your money on that. Even using with the small frame that it comes with is only good for a crib size and that will work just fine without a frame. The problem is it is a hassle to handle and the rollers fall off the table ( you need a long table) Also you are going back and forth the whole length of the frame. A large frame will take up way to much space.
