Paper piecing Patterns

Paper piecing Patterns
I like paper piecing but have not made a quilt of my own yet with a Paper piecing pattern. I was at a Retreat last week and a lady was doing the Crackers Pattern by Judy Niemeyer. I like this pattern but don't know if I want to make this one or not. I am looking for some other Paper piecing patterns that are not too complex so they don't take me forever to make. I do NOT want to do a complex Judy Niemeyer one. My life it so busy-I know I would never get it done. I would like to hear suggestions for the paper piecing patterns.

she can be pretty complex. i have one now by Jinny Beyer. I have trouble getting my head around the pattern pieces because i don't want to do it as paper piecing. means i must use the side without the pattern on it. I will trace on the window and then it should work. Good luck.

If you have not done much PPing, personally, I wouldn't start with a Judy Niemeyer pattern.
Not saying that you couldn't, but for me I would sooner work on something I knew I could handle before I went for a challenge such as that!
I learned PPing doing the FWS blocks.
When I started, I figured, that if it was not for me, all would not be lost as I could have a bunch of mini quilts or pot holders, using the single blocks. Or could put a few together for a table topper or runner. A few more for a baby quilt, more for a throw, and so on! Yes, I got to the end and even made some extras. I discovered that I loved PPing, but at the start? Nope! I'm glad I gave it a fair chance!
Other good starters along with the FWS might be the PC or DJ quilt or other similar ones.
That way you can do individual blocks as you build your PPing skills and confidence.
You'll then know if a JN is for you!

You might find something on Carol Doak's site. I listed a link to her free patterns. I made a small wall hanging years back using a simple block but when put together made a complicated looking quilt.
