I washed my fabric, 5Yds of solid red. I then mixed lmy own starch, as I've done before, however While ironing, I noticed "blotches" on the fabric. Darker than the fabric itself.
Has this ever happened to you and if so is there a remedy?
Should I rewash and forget the starch.
Your input will be appreciated.

This has happened to me with solid red fabric I used as a backing and I didn't starch it when I pressed it. When the quilt was washed the dark blotching disappeared.

It happens to me every so often. I'm not sure why. It seems the heat of the iron does something funny to the fabric. It has always gone away again later. Recently, I had some dark pink that kept getting purple blotches, but it has all gone back to pink now.

The first time I had fabric turn colors while ironing it completely freaked me out.
But it does go back to its original color. I don't think the starch had anything to do with it , I think its the dye in the fabric.
