I use just a regular lead pencil, light strokes and if any marks are left on fabric, an artist GUM eraser will remove the lead without hurting the fabric....has worked for me several time...

I just ordered a new one from the Missouri Quilting Co (they had a wonderful deal of the day) so I added the pencil to my cart. I'm keeping my fingers crossed the lead isn't broken in it. If it is - I will definitely contact them.

Thank you everyone for your posts - I was beginning to think I was sharpening my pencils wrong.
