Is anyone else having problems with the lead breaking?

I can sharpen mine, and then it pulls loose from the inside of the pencil. It is like the blue lead inside is broken.

I use these pencils for marking on fabric all of the time.

I have had that problem with marking pencils before. I wonder if they weren't dropped in shipping and the lead is just in pieces inside so that it falls apart when you use it. It is very annoying and expensive.

I use a soft lead drawing pencils to mark my fabric. They may be soft but they don't brake inside to often. Try not to put a lot of preasure on the pencil.

That ayways happens to me too. I was told at the Road to CA quilt show to keep them in the freezer and you won't have that problem. Mine are still there!

I have also had that problem and it's discouraging. Thanks for the freezer tip. I'll try that next time.

I can just imagine my hubby's response when he finds my pencils in the freezer

From time to time I have that problem with dressmaking pencils, and with regular colored pencils. I assume it is like a previous poster said, they were dropped at some point and the lead inside broke. I haven't come up with any solution yet.

And I thought I was the only one with that problem. Maybe we could all send a message to the maker and let them know we aren't able to use their product because they are defected. I have had an awful time of finding markers that are safe and work well. They are expensive.
