I use a block of bees wax to wax my own thread.

This is what I use. I buy reg. handquilting thread in all different colors and then lightly run it over the block and you're good to go!!! Just make sure you don't get over zealous or you'll have wax build up on the top of your quilt!! Ask me how I know this one!!! :lol: :lol: First time for everything is a learning experience! :lol: :lol:

Wal=mart as colors. Easiest was is just pull thread thur a piece of wax. My mother kept a white candle in her sewing stuff, wrapped in a white cloth,keep candle lint free.

Several years ago an acquaintance gave me some quilting thread she had waxed. She put the spools in melted wax and let it soak and then cool a bit and wiped it off.

To my knowledge, no one makes waxed thread anymore. I am sometime wrong about things. However, one of the best (I think) quilting thread is the 99 cent spool you get at Joann's. They are in the wire bins. Comes in several colors and is made by A&E which also makes Signature thread.

if i were looking for waxed thread I would check out the stores in Amish areas
