you could do lap quilts but you could incorporate things that are on their invitations,such as colors or pictures or even if you have a embroidery machine you could do the whole invitation and put it on the lap quilt

I'm not sure of the name of this type of quilt, but would they like to have one with places for people to sign at the reception?
I just helped a friend make one for her daughter's wedding and they LOVED it.
