What do you use for the weighted part? I have a friend whose GD has retts syndrome and I wondered if the weighted quilt might help. I'm talking about the kind they use for autistic children. Thanks for any help.

Lord, please keep your arm around my shoulder and your hand over my mouth.
Some people use the poly pellets, used for weighting dolls. I believe Amazon.com carries them. Do a Google search and you may be able to find a better price, for buying in bulk.

Send a pm to tngal22 here on the board http://www.quiltingboard.com/members...22-u63084.html. She made them for her daughter and also sells them. She would be a good resource for you!

Our LQS made them last year -I want to say they made pockets and the pellets were in like bean bags so they could be removed when the quilt needed washing
The Project Linus website has a pattern for the weighted quilts. http://www.projectlinus.org/patterns/. This pattern uses old sheets for the weight. This is an easy pattern and well illustrated.
