#1
I have had a request to make a weighted blanket for a 5 year old. Has anyone ever made one? I understand that Poly pellets are the best thing to use for weight. I will get this. any other tips I need to know?

I make weighted blankets and there is an easy pattern at projectlinus.org for it. For weight, we used old sheets, bath blankets and towels to roll and insert into the tubes. We use velcro to close both sides of the blanket to allow the fillers to be removed for washing. I will be more than happy to send you a copy of a blanket pattern by pm, just let me know. I have made 411 in almost 3 years time. They are simple to make, can easily be made in under 30 minutes.

They are great for anyone with sensory integration issues. The weight is calming and a little preasure helps kids or others sleep or calm down. Gives them st of a sense of security. They are very often recommended by ocupational or physical therapists.
