Default Well Now, Don't Laugh

I have an idea for how I want to quilt my next project. The "don't laugh" part is this. I have not purchased all the fabric that I plan to put in this quilt. I have not started sewing the pieces that I have cut. But I already know what I want to put on "Tropical Nights" my all batik Boxed Squares. DOLPHINS. I found a cute one and made a template.

I got the most wonderful idea this afternoon. I had drawn several of the dolphins onto freezer paper. Well I cut a few of them out and was moving them around the sewing table. Then it occurred to me to figure how big the quilt will be without its borders and figure how many dolphins could fit in the area. I drew out some more and when I get them cut, I can pin them directly onto the finished quilt top and see how far apart they should be to look right.

I am so excited about this project! I can see it in my mind. I sure hope it turns out as cute as I am thinking.

Want to wish you well on your endeavors to do this quilt. It sounds like it will be a lot of fun too. Enjoy!

I know how a project will grab your attention and demand you work on it. Right now I am saying to myself, no! I must finish my Spiderweb quilt!!! No I can not start another project! I hope my resolve lasts.

When I lay down at night, I think about my fabric and what patterns I could make into a quilt. Beats counting sheep! haha

Why would I laugh. If I want to do all the quilts that I have plans for, I need to live a LONG time. Keep that creativity going.

Nothing laughable....just good fun and good ideas....just keep a notebook handy for those random design ideas that pop up ....look forward to seeing your quilt.
