I have never taken a class and one I am looking at is over 7 months and wanted to know what is the average cost for classes. Maybe one you have taken or one you have taught. I don't want to put too much into it since I am not sure if I can make it. What is reasonable for this time frame?

my first one was a couple years ago and I paid $5 per class and bought all my materials from the lady's store.

I take 6 month sampler classes at a cost of #50.00. This includes 1 class a month and provides only the pattern.

I usually check the local prices
anywhere from a 4 week class for $55.00 to a 6 week class for $90.00
depends on the teacher, and the technique.
check some of the shops that have a web site and post their class lists

My favorite place for classes charges $25 but I've seen other places charge more.

I have been giving lessons for free. Anyone that wants to learn to quilt, I will share my knowledge.

I live an hour away from the nearest place that offers classes and I just can't find time to commit to lessons. So, I decided to teach myself 10 years ago and share what I know.

One day, I would love to take some classes though.

My first class (Learning to Quilt at JoAnn's) was $30 for four sessions, which is about the same rate at my LQS. I took a 12-month sampler class for $50. Once I had the basics, I didn't really enjoy the classes, because I want to work at my own speed, and also because there is a wealth of information from this Board plus online sites.

We pay alot more $$$ locally than most of you have posted. Of course it depends on the class/teacher/supplies that are included
