I'm doing a happy dance, because tomorrow evening I get to take my first "Machine Quilting" class. 8) One of the supply requirements is crib-size batting. Do you think I should take something like WarmNatural or one of the bags of the polyester stuff? Any ideas? Any reasons it might make a difference?

if you've never done free motion quilting before i would go with warm natural/white.

i find its the smoothest & easiest batting to learn on. when you have some experience you can get into the more lofty battings so you can achieve peaks and valleys in your quilting.

I agree. I'd go with a cotton batting at first. They have more grip and the fabric sticks to the batting and doesn't shift nearly as much. The exception is the Quilter's Dream Poly. Fabric sticks to it like it does to cotton.

I would use a low loft. Warm & Natural is a good choice.
