What brand or kind of pen do you use to sign your quilts? The only ones I can find are scrapbooking pens, but my mom thinks that is what quilters use too (and it is what she uses).

I have a Pigma Pen, but I really don't like it.
I went and got one of those Sharpies that writes like a pen. Did a few tests with it, washed, etc and it works fine.

My pen is Pigma, Micron 05 and I like it... you just iron over whatever you have written to set the ink...

I've used Pigma pens & Sharpies, just depends on what kind of line I want. :)

About 10 years ago I used a blue Pigma pen to sign a quilt. I didn't know I was supposed to iron it to set it.

I went over the line several times so it would really show. I washed the quilt WEEKS later and the !@#$%^&*()_ ink ran so now it looks all smeary there.

I'm not aware of any one else having an issue with Pigma pens, but I did with a blue one.

I have also only used the Pigma pens, but I think now that Terri has tried the Sharpies with success I might have to give that a whirl... they have lots of nice colours too!

I always use a Pigma Pen and heat set. I have never had any trouble with them, fading or bleeding.
